AFCEA’s TechNet Augusta will bring together an array of military and civilian thought leaders and practitioners August 2-4 to help all players better understand the challenges the cyber element introduces into a combat arms fight.
Both Christine Ward and I will be attending, and look forward to learning about new commercial capabilities being brought to the Army cyber marketplace, and to learn about the cyber challenges faced by DoD missions.
This event hits on many military missions, but a key one is the cyber fight. The Army Cyber Center of Excellence at Fort Gordon has direct leadership over many critical cyber missions. The center and the Army continue to address transport, data and organizational convergence to achieve an essential integrated information environment. It is clear now that progress is underway, but hard work remains to close key capability gaps and this conference is one of the ways that progress can be made.
We expect the event will help the joint, combined military and industry team to work challenges like:
• Achieving cyber situational understanding;
• Fielding defensive cyberspace operational capabilities;
• Building a unified cyber platform;
• Accomplishing offensive electronic attack;
• Fielding cyber electromagnetic activities collaboration tools
The expo floor at this event is always a very dynamic place full of vendor demos of mission-focused solutions (you can see the full list here). In reviewing the list one of particular interest I thought I should mention is SAP NS2. Cognitio has been treated to in depth demos on the incredible analytic and data infrastructure capabilities of SAP NS2 and we think the cyber security solutions that will be demonstrated will show direct applicability to DoD missions in this space.
If you will be in Augusta for TechNet please get in touch.
